Noah was then told to take all the animals, birds, reptiles and his family onto the boat and to close the door. Noah was told that 7 days later he would send the rain to flood the earth. He was told that it would rain for 40 days and 40 nights and that all other living creatures would be destroyed.
When the water started to go down Noah sent out a raven, but the raven just circled the air until the water had dried up. Noah wanted to know if it was dry so he sent out a dove and when the dove could find nowhere to land it came back to Noah. 7 days later Noah sent the dove out again and this time it returned in the evening with a green leaf in its beak.
